EVOLUTION AND INTELLIGENT DESIGN

The subtitle of this post is: "HOW DARING ARE YOU?"

Do you dare enter into the interesting area of discussion called "CREATION AND INTELLIGENT DESIGN?" Much to do is being made over the so-called scientific discoveries of Charles Darwin in the 19th century and the opposing idea that behind all existing things , there was an "Intelligent Designer."

An interesting facet of the whole subject is that people who accept evolution as fact do not want to admit that there could be a personal Being, that most call "God" as the source of the marvelous details we find in all of nature, human, plant and animal, and manifested in millions of species and sub-species.

Even those who adhere to the validity of "intelligent design" are sometimes embarrassed by the use of the term "God." The whole process smacks of wanting to eliminate the existence of the Eternal God in exchange for their own ideas. The expression "intelligent design" does not really give full recognition to the power and presence of God in the universe.

SCIENCE AND RELIGION

Contrary to the belief of many, the two subjects are not contradictory. Numerous are those curious people, who have not penetrated the matter sufficiently, so they have arrived at erroneous conclusions.
The principles involved in the vast field of knowledge called "science" have all been established, set in motion and maintained by the Creator God of the universe. Many prejudiced people deny His existence and/or limit His action and do not recognize Him as a Person with whom they have to deal.
The totality of the 66 books of the canons of the Old Testament and the New Testament were inspired by God as was the writing of the actual words. So the Creator is at the origin of both science and the Holy Bible. It is neither logical nor common sense that would suppose that the One source of scientific and religious knowledge would contradict Himself. The major and broadly accepted reason for conjecturing there is a conflict between science and the Bible is due to dishonest research and the permission to let stand ideas that are not based on fact.
Why the supposed conflict? It is due to the fact that we understand fully neither science nor the Bible. The current scientific knowledge at hand is by nature inexact. If it were not so, there would be no further need for research.
Scientists are changing their theories and conclusions on a regular basis. I could cite some scientific facts I was taught in school which are now totally rejected. The Holy Bible has not changed, but the process of verifying some of the statements it makes, has taken continuous and ardent work. One example would be the work of archeologists, scientists in their own right. They have been confirming over and over again what the Bible has stated in the historical and scientific realms. Those results are denied by the naysayers and the prejudiced. Therefore, if there are apparent contradictions, it is due to the fact that neither science nor the Bible are understood perfectly.
Scientific knowledge continues to be discovered. The Bible, however, remains a constant. Some of its parts were written about 3,500 years ago. All has come down to us today and the Bible remains the world's bestseller. Does that help?

THREE MAJOR RELIGIONS

In actuality, there are an estimated eleven major religions on our planet. Of those eleven, there are a myriad of subdivided groups, called "sectes" or considered as minor religions.
In recent years, much has been made of the idea that Christianity,Judaism and Islam are from the same origin.It is true that Abraham(ca. 2000 B.C.)is recognized by all three. And it is evident that Palestine, and more particularly the city of Jerusalem have changed hands between the members of the three. Their presence in modern Jerusalem is very real.
Certain parts of the metropolis are considered especially sacred to each. Much blood has been shed in the process.
It is noteworthy that a major difference exists between the three groups. Mainly, it revolves around Jesus of Nazareth. Within the larger group known as "official Christendom", there are many variations of adherence to the importance of Jesus Christ and His teachings.
The Christian who holds to the belief that Jesus is Prophet, Priest and coming King also knows Him as God, the Son, the co-Creator and the Lord and Savior.
Islam and present-day official Judaism recognize Him only as a teacher or prophet. They reject totally the value of His death on the cross of Calvary and His bodily resurrection, three days later.
Jesus, Himself, said,"he who does NOT honor the Son, does not honor the Father who sent Him (Gospel of John 5:23).
